2022, The Year of Success!

| January 03, 2022

This is a peculiar time of year. I know that it's January now, and we all are setting our resolutions and trying to do the very best we can for the coming year. We tend to look back at our accomplishments for the prior year and it's quite possible that you did not make all of your goals. Whether it was a sales goal if you are in sales, or perhaps it was a personal financial goal, such as reducing your debt load or paying off a credit card.

Most of us fail to achieve some of our goals, but why is that?

Today is January 3, 2022, and my New Year's resolution is to go back to the gym. I haven't been there since Covid hit us in March of 2020. Here I am telling you I haven’t been to the gym because of Covid. But see how easy it is to “LIE” to ourselves?

The truth is that I was a lazy bum and just didn't want to go to the gym. We are always lying to ourselves.

At our upcoming review meetings to look back at the year 2021, I'll get all kinds of excuses as to why goals were missed. I'll be told lies! We all do it, we all make excuses that are not true, and we try to shift blame away from ourselves and onto the lie so that we can feel better about ourselves as individuals!

So if you want 2022 to be the year that you'll be proud of yourself, don't lie to yourself. Attack your goals with the strength and purpose that you know you should have. Force yourself to make those extra payments to pay off the credit card, stay on the phone and call extra clients or prospects, and for goodness gracious go to the gym. If the thought of an hour makes you crazy, go for a 1/2 hour, and just get started.

Make 2022 the Year of Success!
